Two-car crash in Seattle injures infant and child

Much like the word suggests, accidents are not planned or prepared for. Anyone could fall victim to an accident, and the aftermath of a crash can be devastating. While there are many causes of car accidents, negligence is one of the most common. And, when a driver is speeding, distracted, intoxicated or reckless, it is likely that a serious car accident could result, harming those involved.

According to recent reports, a two-vehicle collision occurred in Seattle. Authorities believe that an impaired driver caused the crash. The accident happened when a minivan traveling northbound on Airport Way attempted to make a left turn. A speeding vehicle then tried to pass the minivan when the two vehicles collided.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene, and it was reported that an infant in the minivan suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. A second child in the minivan also suffered injuries. It was also reported that the driver of the speeding car was injured in the accident, and, when she was being treated for her injuries, it was determined that she was impaired. The accident is still under investigation and it is not clear if any charges have been filed at this time.

The aftermath of a car crash can be tragic. Many unsuspecting victims suffer tremendously at the hands of negligent drivers. When this occurs, victims have rights to seek legal recourse. Through a personal injury action, a victim could hold a negligent driver accountable and recover compensation for their injuries, losses, and for the damages suffered.
