TACOMA, WA – According to the Washington State Patrol’s Twitter account, at least one person was injured in a crash involving a semi truck on SR 509 Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of State Route 509 at the Taylor Way intersection when a semi truck collided with five other vehicles. Its driver claims that the truck’s brakes had failed.

One motorist was injured, potentially suffering a broken leg. It is currently unclear if anyone else was hurt.
Police alternated traffic while officials worked to clear the scene.
