PARKLAND, WA – Officials with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said a man needed rescue after a car crashed into the living room of his home in Parkland on Monday morning.

According to FOX 13, the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m., in the 100 block of South Sheridan Avenue. A witness told police that a car was traveling at an excessive speed when it careened into the home, seemingly without braking.

Following the accident, the driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A male resident was trapped in the living room with non-life-threatening injuries. After being rescued, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

As of Tuesday evening, authorities had not identified a suspect.
