PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A pickup truck collision Friday afternoon shut down State Route 7 in both directions in Spanaway, according to Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred near 152nd Street East (Military Road East) and was first reported by WSP at 4:13 p.m.
Photos shared by the trooper show a silver pickup truck crashed through a barbed-wire fence and into a wooded green space. The downed pole can be seen at rest along the vehicle, along with fallen power lines across the entire roadway.
State troopers and crews with Washington State Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
Traffic was diverted as authorities conducted an investigation.
