KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple lanes of northbound Interstate 5 in south Federal Way were closed Wednesday evening after a crash, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The collision took place on the northbound lanes just south of State Route 18, some time before 5:15 p.m.

Little information has been made available at this time, but only the two center lanes were initially blocked. By 5:33 p.m., Washington State Patrol troopers and local firefighters had responded to the area, leaving a total of four right lanes closed.

Officials did not immediately indicate whether anyone was seriously injured, but by 5:37 p.m., two right lanes remained blocked, with delays expected to linger through the area.

Our team will return to this story with updates in a later post as more information is made public.
