KING COUNTY, WA — A semi truck was among the five vehicles involved in three separate crashes Thursday afternoon in Federal Way, according to KOMO News.
The incidents unfolded on a stretch of northbound Interstate 5 just north of South 320th Street at about 12:15 p.m.
While the circumstances behind the crashes remain unclear, the first accident was a single-car rollover. A semi-truck and a truck towing a trailer that lost its entire load were involved in the second wreck, and the third crash involved two cars.
While no injuries were reported, the series of collision left “debris and vehicles all over the place,” according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson.
Motorists in the area were warned of a five-mile traffic backup stretching into the Fife area, and alternate routes were advised.
An investigation into the cause of the accidents remains in progress.
