KING COUNTY, WA – A vehicle crash Monday afternoon blocked multiple lanes on southbound Interstate 5 in north Tukwila, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident was reported in an area south of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, near the city’s Allentown neighborhood, some time before 2:15 p.m.

While the left general purpose lane and part of the HOV lane were initially closed, by 2:33 p.m., the right and the three left lanes were closed as Washington State Patrol troopers and local firefighters responded to the scene.

At the time of the report, traffic was still able to pass through the area, but motorists were warned of delays.

At 2:49 p.m., only the right lane remained blocked, and by 3:25 p.m., more than 30 minutes later, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was seriously injured.
