KING COUNTY, WA – A 20-year-old woman was sent to a hospital Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle during an alleged domestic assault incident at an Auburn park, according to KOMO News.

The events unfolded at Lea Hill Skatepark, off 124th Avenue Southeast, north of Green River College.

Preliminary details indicate an 18-year-old man was behind the wheel of a black Honda Fit when he drove off the roadway, into the park and over grass before the vehicle struck the young woman.

Auburn Police say the victim was among several other people at the park that day. Footage captured by witnesses shows a number of people either running from the path of the vehicle or rushing to assist the injured woman.

After a brief pursuit, responding officers were able to apprehend and arrest the teen driver.

Authorities said the victim’s injury did not appear to be serious.

An investigation into the circumstances of the event remains underway, and officials are working to determine whether the striking vehicle was stolen, but the teen suspect has been charged with “DV [domestic violence] Assault in the First Degree.”
