General Rules

Students will submit an original essay of approximately 600 words.

The contest is open to high school juniors and seniors and students currently enrolled in 2-year or 4-year colleges, universities and technical colleges in the United States. Students who are 17 years or younger will need to provide parental consent to enter.

Each student contestant should submit an essay as a Word document (doc, docx) or PDF, along with a digital photo (jpg or png) of yourself and your name, school and phone number.

Three winning essays will be selected based on creativity and originality of the essay. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.

The deadline for entering the essay contest is September 1st, 2016 (subject to change)

Depending on the volume of responses, Dubin Law Group may impose a cutoff at which time we will stop accepting additional applications. If you are interested in taking part, you should enter the contest as soon as possible.

The winners shall receive awards of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place. The number of prizes may be changed at the sole discretion of the judges.

By accepting a prize, the winners grant Dubin Law Group the right to edit, publish, display, distribute and otherwise make use of the essay in connection with this contest and to use their names and biographical information for marketing purposes.

All applicable federal, state and local taxes on prizes will be the sole responsibility of the award recipients.

The winners will be announced on October 1st, 2016. (subject to change)

Decisions of the judges are final.

By voluntarily submitting identifiable information to our email address, you are providing Dubin Law Group with your name, phone number and email address for the sole purpose of entering the essay contest. We will not use the information for any other purpose that what has been stated.

By taking part in this essay contest, contestants agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Dubin Law Group its managers, members, directors, officers, and employees from and against any and all liability and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees associated with taking part in this contest or the acceptance, use or of prizes. Under no circumstances shall Dubin Law Group its directors, officers and employees, be liable to the contestant for indirect, punitive, special or consequential damages.

Employees of Dubin Law Group and immediate families are not eligible to enter this essay contest.
